I love tween girls — they’re so much fun and you never know what’s going to come out of their mouths next! But that unpredictability can make them hard to shop for!
They’re growing out of the kinds of gifts you’ve been giving them the past several years but they aren’t quite ready for the more boring teenage gifts (you know, the “just get me a gift card” phase).
To make sure we get it right, I enlisted the help of my 11-year-old niece! She shared what’s on her wish list (and her friends’ list!) this year.
She even added her thoughts on why some of them are great gifts! Trust me when I saw that a gift from this guide will be a hit with just about any tween girl!
And of course, tween girls and tween boys like lots of the same stuff! So shop this list for the boys in your life too and check out my tween boys gift guide for more ideas for tween girls.

Best Gifts for Tween Girls
1. Nike Sneakers
I own these Nike Blazers and love them, and I know tweens and teens love them too! I’ve seen enough of them around town on cool teens’ feet!
2. Weekender Bag
Tweens are starting to have a whole life outside of you, and that sometimes includes sleepovers! Get her the perfect bag to carry all her things — not too grownup and stuffy, but far from what they used as a little kids.
3. Jewelry
Accessorizing is one of the true joys of tween-dom! Help her build her jewelry collection with cute necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings. Make it even more special by getting her a customized name necklace.
Gold-colored chain and beads. Clasp closure
4. Chunky Monkey Business game
She can play this at slumber parties with friends or you can play for family game night, and everyone will have a good time. It’s a word game where you have to find the one word that completes two common phrases.
This hilarious card game is fast and silly and makes you use your brain!
Tween girl perspective: “It’s so fun because it is a card game, a thinking game, and a speed game!”
Other board games that are fun for tweens (and the whole family): Kids Against Maturity, What Do You Meme? Family Edition, Apples to Apples, Family Feud Disney Edition, and Unstable Unicorns.
- Objective - Connect one word using the beginning and ending word. Can you figure out the blank?
- 3-8 Player Interactive Party Game
- Includes - One monkey, 400 cards, and a rules sheet.
5. The Wingfeather Saga books
Both my tween nephew and niece have this series on their wish list this holiday season, so you know it’s a good one! It’s so fun to watch your tweens get fully enraptured in reading, and any gift that helps that happen is a winner in my book.
Tween girl perspective: “I really like the, because of their cliff hangers and because of how well the story is written!”
6. Swanket
Kids really know how to get comfy, and this sweatshirt/blanket does the trick!
Tween girl perspective: “I love them because you don’t have to worry about keeping track of a blanket when you are literally wearing one!!!”
- Roomy hood
- Moon shaped pocket
- Elastic sleeves
7. Air Track
If you live somewhere with rough winters, you know indoor activities are crucial to your sanity! This air track mat is great for gymnastics, tumbling, yoga, basically whatever your tween can think of.
Tween girl perspective: “It is super fun because you get a little bounce to do your tricks, but at the same time, you are basically doing it on the ground!”
- 10 x 3.28 x 0.33ft
- Polyvinyl Chloride
- Includes electric air pump, durable carry bag and repair kit
8. Iron Flask Water Bottle
Water bottles are a crowd-pleasing but practical gift. Stainless steel water bottles keeps your tween’s water cold and ready to drink.
I bought this for my niece at the start of school and she loves it. Even more, she broke the lid on accident and we discovered that the Iron Flask brand is amazing.
They have a lifetime guarantee on their products. When we contacted them to get a new lid they not only sent one lid but the sent two lids, four straws AND two cleaning tools! We’re customers for life!
9. Clothes
Seasonally appropriate clothes are a great gift because they can wear them right away! You can pick out the clothes yourself (which makes sure they’re getting some of the items they actually need) or you could gift a shopping trip with a certain budget so they can get the latest trends they like and perfect size.
10. Winter Hats
Even if you’ve bought them hats before, you know hats get lost and their taste changes. A new beanie that they love means they’ll be cute and fashionable all winter.
11. Google Home Mini
If you love smart gadgets, your tween probably will too. Give them their own Google Home Mini to help them feel a little more in charge of their lives.
Tween girl perspective: “We use this for an alarm, to listen to music, and all sorts of other things!”
- Gives you the functionality of Google in your home
- Ask it questions or tell it to do things to tackle your everyday tasks, enjoy music and entertainment
- Google Home chalk customizes to you by recognizing your voice
- Can work on its own or you can have several around the house
- Colors of this Google Mini chalk: aqua, chalk, charcoal and coral
12. Walkie Talkies
I don’t think anyone ever outgrows the fun of walkie talkies! It’s like being a spy or an explorer (and it’s a good way to communicate with your tween when they’re playing outside without having to leave the house!).
Tween girl perspective: “I absolutely love them because I can go all the way around the block and still hear my brother!”
- Small and light-weighted; convenient for kids to hold and carry around
- Easy to operate while clear audio and decent range accessible
- VOX for hands-free; children can handle other things while talking over walkie talkies
13. Wrist Watch
The most practical accessory of all. Tweens are the perfect age to start wearing a watch. They can set alarms, keep track of how much time they have left, and just start having a better view of their schedule.
This option comes in a bunch of different colors and would make a great stocking stuffer or birthday gift.

16. Concert Tickets
There is nothing more magical and memorable in your tween years than going to a concert of some of your favorite artists! Whether it’s something big like a Coldplay concert or a smaller event, your tween will remember it for years to come. Make it a one-on-one date or let her invite her best friends — it’ll be the perfect gift.

Made of high quality silicone material that provides comfort from prolonged usage.
17. Spa Day
Your gift doesn’t have to be just one thing that she unwraps — it can be something you do together or she does with friends!
