This Target t-shirt was a spur of the moment shirt that I bought last year that I have since bought in so many different colors (here’s just 3 of them!) and have convinced everyone from my mom to my sister to my niece to buy.
It’s the most affordable option on this list, is super soft and lightweight and a great throw on and go kinda top.

This ribbed white tee is a little more elevated than a standard one, and that’s why I love it. The texture gives it a polished look while still being just as comfy and versatile. It’s the perfect option when I want something that’s easy to layer over.

3. Old Navy Vintage Crew Neck
The next most affordable top on the list not from Target with just as many fun color options is this Old Navy shirt! This t-shirt has that perfectly relaxed fit, loose but not sloppy, so it looks just as good tucked into jeans as it does thrown over leggings.
It’s a medium weight shirt that fits more wide than fitted. The sleeves are a great length for cuffing and the sizing includes regular, tall and petite. This color is mostly sold out but don’t worry, there’s tons more available! I’m wearing a size small regular.
4. Abercrombie Polished Relaxed Tee
I bought this top in grey last year and wear it ALL.THE.TIME. I recently grabbed it in black since they grey gets so much love and let’s be real. you really can’t go wrong with a classic black tee.
The sizing ranges from xxs to xxl (I’m wearing a size small), fits slightly wider than the Target shirt in number 3 but has the perfect length to it. Great for a front tuck or layering.
5. Abercrombie Men’s Cropped T-Shirt

This brown tee is actually a mens shirt! This is the heaviest weight shirt of all the t-shirts on this list and perfect for days that are a bit chillier or you want more coverage to your shirt.
The slightly oversized fit and “cropped” style gives it a relaxed, lived-in look, while the earthy tone makes it easy to pair with anything. It’s one of those shirts I grab when I want to be comfy but still look like I put thought into my outfit.

7. Madewell’s The Perfect Cotton Crewneck Tee
This Madewell shirt is another shirt that I’ve also owned in a variety of colors over the years and alway love! I just snagged it in this botanical green color but also have the orange as well!
It has a slightly lower neckline than most of the tops on this list, is more on the fitted side (without being skin tight) and has the perfect sleeve length.
8. Madewell’s Garment-Dyed Shrunken Crewneck Tee
This t-shirt is more than I typically spend a basic t-shirt but the second I put it on I knew I had to keep it. It’s slim fit without being fitted, the perfect length (not too short but not too long) and has that lived in feel you want in a t-shirt.
This dark brown color is simple, but the rich tone gives it a little extra depth compared to a classic black. I love wearing it with denim for a casual look, but it also layers beautifully under a cardigan or blazer when I want something a little more elevated.
