Wanting to make a simple superhero mask but can’t find the right template? Or worse, found a “one size fits all” for you AND your toddler? Think again! Here’s a superhero mask template – one for you and one for your toddler!
This simple tutorial is quick, easy and will provide hours of entertainment for your little superhero!
We’re hosting a Superhero Party for Roy’s 4th birthday and decided to have a decorating station so everyone can have their very own Superhero Masks!
This is a great option for anyone planning a Superhero party, especially for kids! It can be both a craft AND a party favor in one!
To prep for it, I created masks using the superhero mask template below. I left the elastic off so each person could pick the color and it could be the right size.
I only had stickers to decorate since we used foam and markers wouldn’t work well but you can do whatever you want! Construction paper would be an easy, cost effective way to make these and kids could color, paint, or glue on them.
The options are endless with superhero masks so start with the basic below and make them unique to you or your little superhero!

Supplies
- Superhero Mask Template (download below)
- Foam Paper (or card stock or a paper bag or any kind of paper!)
- A Hole Punch
- Scissors
- Elastic (I used this elastic from Amazon) – you could also use ribbon
- Things to decorate them with (stickers, glitter, etc)
Instructions
1. Gather your supplies.
2. Print off my superhero mask template.
3. Cut out template.
4. Trace the template on your foam paper (or whatever paper you’re using).
Don’t stress too much on this. Trace close to the mask but also know you’ll likely cut it out on the inside of the mask so feel free to leave a little bit of space.
If you’re using foam, I recommend using a pen! I used a marker on a few of them and they tended to smear and make a mess.
5. Cut out mask.
Just remember this doesn’t have to be perfect! You can make the eye holes bigger if necessary.
6. Using hole punch, create punch out the holes on both sides.
Just make sure you don’t get too close to the edge so it doesn’t tear.
7. Attach ribbon/elastic to the mask.
I prefer to put the elastic on first so you can check to see if they eye holes need to be widened a bit before they’re decorated.
8. Allow kids (or adults!) to decorate their mask however they want!
Paint them, add stickers, glue on glitter, etc! Depending on the type of material you used for the mask will determine what you can do. We used the foam paper so I don’t recommend using marker on it or it will smear right off! A few fun stickers were perfect!
9. Enjoy!
I hope this simple superhero mask template and tutorial results in endless fun for you and your superhero kiddos!
