Peloton Instructors – What to Know & Whose Class to Take

You’ve finally purchased your Peloton bike or your Peloton tread and want to dig into crushing some classes. But wait – who are the Peloton instructors?

What do you need to know? Here are all the Peloton instructors, what they teach and a bit more about each one.

Which Peloton Instructor or class is right for you?

Don’t have a ton of time? Start with this! This should help you pick your next class based on what you want out of it or how you want to feel.

Peloton Instructors - What to Know & Whose Class to Take
  • If you want to feel like an elite athlete: Matt Wilpers (bike and tread)
  • If you want a hard workout that doesn’t actually feel so hard: Jess Sims (bike, tread, strenghth, bootcamps)
  • If you want to smile while you sweat: Adrian Williams (tread and strength)
  • If you want a fun class lead by an instructor with quite a bit of humor: Matty Maggiacomo (tread and strength)
  • If you want to be distracted while spinning (with a likely dash of Britney): Cody Rigsby (bike)
  • If you want to get off the bike feeling incredibly strong: Kendall Toole (bike)
  • If you’re looking for an OG Pelton instructor: Jenn Sherman (bike)
  • If you want to train like an Olympic marathoner: Becs Gentry (tread and strength)
  • If you want a challenging yoga class: Kristin McGee (yoga)

Want to know my personal favorites?

For a little background, I’m a runner at heart. I’ve done 3 marathons (including the Boston Marathon) and absolutely love it. I was also a college athlete so strength training is something I’ve done my whole life. Some of the Peloton instructors train more like you’re an elite athlete while others take it a little less serious.

My personal favorites are Jess Sims for boot camps (she does both tread and bike bootcamps), Becs Gentry or Matt Wilpers for tread workouts, Adrian Williams or Chase Tucker for strength and Alex Toussaint for spin classes.

Becs, Matt and Alex definitely train more like you’re an athlete while the others take it less serious (but trust me, you’ll get an insanely good workout!).

*All of the information below was found on the Peloton site, through member interviews and social pages and by personally taking their classes!
