Pearl headbands are a girls best friend. A stunning pearl headband can dress up any outfit, cover up dirty hair or elevate on otherwise simple outfit.
You’ve seen pearl headbands everywhere from the runway (Prada, Miu Miu, and others), on popular television shows (the queen of pearl headbands has got to be Blair Waldorf), and even on everyone’s favorite princess, Kate Middleton!

Headband History
Headbands have been around for centuries and have gone through a variety of styles along the way. From Greek laurel wreaths all the way to Dior’s runway, we’ve seen all shapes, sizes and colors when it comes to headbands.
In the 1920s you saw headbands adorned with feathers and sparkles while in the 30s Coco Chanel began styling it her in classic, timeless way. In the 40s Rosie the Riveter showed off the bandana style headband showing that women can be part of the workers.
Since then you’ve seen them on First Ladies and celebrities, at festivals and on the tennis courts. Who knows where the headband will be in the next 50 years!
How to Wear Pearl Headbands
The are so many different way to wear a pearl headband.
- Keep your hair down in loose waves, putting the pearl headband behind the front chunk of hair.
- Pull your har back into a low ponytail or bun, pulling out a few chunks in the front.
- Swap the ponytail for a braid! A loose low braid gets a pop of fun with the addition of a peral headband.
I love how Kate Middleton often wears hers – gently pulling the front of her hair back with her long brown hair casually flowing behind her.
She even wore a pearl headband to Prince Louis’ christening! There she had it pulled back into a low chignon.
And now, here are some of our favorite pearl headband finds.
