I’m SO excited to finally share my home office makeover with you guys! It has drastically changed from my original design (find it here) since the desk I had originally ordered was never shipped but it’s still the feminine home office I always wanted.
I had searched long and hard for that desk since I wanted a desk that was wider and deeper than a regular desk. The only larger ones I could find were your typical business man desk made out of dark wood. Totally not my style.
Pink Desk
My sister recently got a dining room table made by Justin over at Midwest Woodcraft so I reached out to see if he would make me my dream desk. A pink one. I know most wood guys aren’t big fans of painting wood but he jumped on the opportunity and quickly agreed!
Together we created my perfect desk. I showed him one from Anthropologie which I loved (but it was too small). We used some of the elements from that for my desk. In lieu of 5 drawers (2 on either side and one in the middle) we replaced 2 of them with a cabinet that I use for my camera and lenses. I picked out the drawers pulls (again from Anthro) and the paint color (Mellow Coral from Sherwin Williams) so it was exactly how I wanted it.
My desk is the perfect addition for my feminine home office! I highly recommend Justin and Midwest Woodcraft – especially if you’re local!
Gallery Wall
My gallery wall was a labor of love. It went through about 6 different variations before I got it how I like it but now I’m obsessed!
Here’s a note when it comes to gallery walls – move it around, change things up and try different things even after it’s on your wall! I switched out a ton of the photos for prints, moved an entire row of frames and art and moved things around until I got it right. You can always patch up the holes. 😉
My goal for my gallery wall was to use as many local creative’s work in there as possible! Here are all the places I bought my art from:
I’ve had Cassie from Junah Woods make a few weaves for the kids rooms (you can see Penelope’s here) and had her make one for the office too! I actually ended up stealing Penelope’s from her room since I liked how it looked with my gallery wall and use the one Cassie made specifically for the office over my shelf.
Plants
Bloomscape sent me 3 plants for the home office (and you all know my love for plants!). I got a fiddle leaf fig, a hedgehog aloe and a bird’s nest fern. They’re sent pre-potted so all you need to do is pull them out of the box and put them on your shelf (or floor or whatever).
A little card with care instructions is included and I thought they were so pretty I included them in my gallery wall! 🙂 (P.S. Be sure you’re following along on Instagram because I’m doing a giveaway with them very soon!)
I added a few plants in the gallery wall using these hanging pots. I also found these adorable pots from Anthropologie that I’m in love with!
Final details
Since I knew the desk was going to pink I decided to pain the whole room white (White Dove from Sherwin Williams to be exact) to give it a clean slate. I already had a tiny pink table that I use for my printer and a white shelf for plants, plants and more plants as well as a few books and this amazing reed diffuser from Thymes that makes my office smell amazing. Candles are a must in my office!
The furry white chair gives the room an additional texture which is so important!
I got a new light fixture from West Elm, used a rug from I’ve owned for a year (to be honest, I thought it was a blanket when I bought it haha!), and adorable pots from Anthropologie. Some Wit + Delight stationary and fun books and flowers finished it off!
