Full vs Partial Balayage

Balayage is a popular hair treatment that results in gorgeous, natural-looking highlights.   Let's explore the two types — full and partial balayage!

'Partial balayage' refers to hand-painted highlights applied to specific sections of hair.

What is partial balayage?

This technique adds subtle color and provides a very natural and sun-kissed result. A partial balayage is also very low maintenance and lasts for 12-14 weeks!

What can I expect from a partial balayage?

'Full balayage' refers to the same freehand painting technique as a partial balayage, except the highlights are applied to the entire head of hair.

What is full balayage?

Full balayage results in a more dramatic look because more of the hair will be highlighted.

What can I expect from a full balayage?

Aside from the final result,  there are a few additional differences to note.

The partial will take about 45 minutes compared to the full treatment which can take up to 2-3 hours.

1. Treatment Time

A partial balayage will do less damage to your hair since less hair is being color treated.

2. Hair Damage

While both options grow out well, the full balayage will require more upkeep to keep regrowth in check.

3. Maintenance
