5 Ways to Spot a Fake Chanel Bag

If you're investing in a Chanel bag, take a closer look to make sure it's not a fake!

Each side of the stitched diamonds should have 8 to 12 stitches. If it's less than 8, it's a fake.

STITCH COUNT

The quilting pattern should be perfectly aligned when the flap is closed if the bag is new.

QUILTING

At the top of the logo, the right C is in front; at the bottom, the left C is in front.

CC LOCK

There should be three small lines on the top of the left C if the bag was made in France.

The chain should be heavy and without dents. The leather strap should look hand-stitched.

CHAIN STRAPS

If your Chanel bag was manufactured in the 2000s onwards, the dust bag should be black. 

DUST BAG

In the ‘80s and ‘90s, the dust bag was white.
