Concealer  vs Foundation

Both concealer and foundation can be used to create a flawless base for the rest of your makeup, but they serve different purposes.  Let's explore what makes each product unique!

Concealer covers dark circles and blemishes and is often used as a color corrector. It’s often used as a spot treatment in conjunction with foundation.

What is concealer?

Foundation is often applied across the full face to create an even, uniform color and texture. It creates a smooth base for the rest of your makeup and can help cover up blemishes and discoloration.

What is foundation?

Yes!! As a rule of thumb, concealer can be used without foundation — and vice versa — but concealer shouldn't be used in place of foundation to cover large swathes of the face.

Can concealer & foundation be used together?

Concealer is typically a shade lighter than your foundation. You can also find color correcting concealers in red, yellow, orange, or pink.

Should concealer and foundation be the same color?

Up to you! This is a matter of personal preference, so try it both ways and see what works best for your skin and routine.
